In-Person Education

Education on the safe digging process plays a critical role in helping prevent accidents, miscommunications and damages to underground facilities by equipping individuals with the knowledge they need to act wisely.

Sunshine 811 supports this mission with four dedicated safety and education liaisons across Florida. These liaisons focus on raising awareness, providing education, addressing questions, and fostering connections with industry stakeholders, including local governments, utility owners and operators, excavators, locators, and others.

Topics

Sunshine 811 offers a number of courses to help you understand the Underground Facility Damage Prevention and Safety Act, Chapter 556, Florida Statutes; Sunshine 811’s ticket policies and procedures; and how all of these affect you, your crew and your project.
